It is glamorous to work on strategy, but execution eats strategy for breakfast

Customers don't care about your strategies or long-term plans—they care about the product in their hands right now. Focusing on anything other than solving their current problems is a distraction. If you have a great strategy but poor execution, you won't succeed because your strategy never reaches the market, and you'll have no idea if the failure was due to the strategy or the execution.
